SMB Enumeration
SMB (Server Message Block) enumeration is a type of attack in which an attacker attempts to enumerate the resources on a target SMB server by sending a series of requests to the server and analyzing the responses. The purpose of this type of attack is to gather information about the target system, such as the names and versions of operating systems, shared resources, and user accounts. This information can then be used to launch further attacks, such as password guessing or privilege escalation. To prevent SMB enumeration attacks, it is important to ensure that your SMB servers are properly configured and that access to them is restricted to only authorized users.
